This year we get the privelege of getting to watch both of our boys, Kade & Drew, play on Thursday and Friday night. This is Drew's first year to play organized football for the Paul Pewitt 7th grade and Kade is a Jr. playing Varsity. Here are a few pics of them. Kade is a Split End for varsity and Drew is the starting Cornerback, Kicker, and Punter. So far Drew has intercepted two passes and kicked 3 onside kicks. Kade has made a couple of awesome catches. One against Daingerfield and the other against Queen City for a 50 yard gain. Macy is just enjoying watching her brothers.

Baseball 2009 Another Banner Year for Kader!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 226px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_V_5EbVWJbPU/ShHajkt6yiI/AAAAAAAAAjY/OrabK1SPEhU/s320/test.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337287338097297954" />
Kade has been announced 1st team All-District for 2009 12-2A. Kade just finished football (Pewitt won Bi-District in Football- Jr. would be upset if I didn't mention that!) and BASKETBALL has begun! We LOVE basketball and more than that, we love watching Kade play basketball! He is really excited because he made the varsity team this year! Drew is having a great first year of Jr. High. He plays the trumpet in the band this year. He really has an ear for music (unlike his mother!). This year he moved into the youth group. He loves it! Macy turned 7 in October. She is full of personality! Most of the time Jr. and I just look at each other and laugh. She's so much fun, but she does know how to "push our buttons." In a few days Jr. and I will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary! I will lead you through a typical week at our house. Monday is an off day. Tuesday's games start at 6:30 with Kade, Macy's are usually at 7:30, & Drew's are at 8:00. Thankfully we have GRANDparents who have been helping out since you can't have 2 parents at 3 ballgames. Macy is loving T-ball. I think she is the prettiest little ballplayer there ever has been. Drew is doing awesome as expected. Kade has been enjoying playing Varsity even though it has been a bumpy year for the team. Now Mom and Dad are being stretched as far as we like. Except for the fact that my little boy turned 15. Man does that make me feel old. Hard to believe that my son who just like yesterday was amazed at watching basketball while I held him up. Kade has grown up to be such a fine young man that his Mom and I are so proud of. Most of you know that I get all caught up in sports especially with my kids. Kader made Varsity as a Freshman. Here is a picture of his first game. I'm not the photographer of the family but it was recorded. But in my time of reflection of all that he has accomplished with his baseball career it is not what I'm most proud of. I thank God daily for the family that he has given me. Kade is an example of his Mother's guidance. It was my hope that all of my kids grow up to be successful in whatever field that they choose and to put God first in their lives. I know that this is Kade dominant and not to leave out Drewboy and Macy but he has reached an age that I feel confident that the mold has set for him on how he will take on anything that life has to throw at him. I only pray that everyone has the experience that I have had with my kids.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_V_5EbVWJbPU/R7kMv-tVS9I/AAAAAAAAABY/A1xGAe53eoM/s320/Pewitt1%2520067.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168176065810877394" />
Cox Family News:

Kade just finished basketball season last week- now...it's time for golf and baseball. Tomorrow is his first golf game? Or is it tournament? Whatever you call it, he's going to go PLAY GOLF!!!! He's really excited to play baseball for the school team this year. I think his first game will be Thursday.

Drew is playing "Little Dribblers" with a team from Pewitt. He LOVES IT! Recently Jr. got concerned because he wasn't playing hard, sluggish, or whatever...Of course, my first thought was Jr. was expecting a little much from our little boy...but, then I started noticing the same thing around the house...turns out he had MONO! And there we were pushing him to "Come on Drew, Push Harder, RRRRRRRUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!" Call us bad parents...Who Knew???!!! Anyway, he's in 5th Grade and loving it!

Macy is thrilled- She's playing baseball this year for the first time...she's wearing her Daddy out practicing! And, she's ready to PLAY, NOW!!!! It's kind of hard to get her to understand, ok, you haven't even gotton drafted to be on a team! She's just soooo excited!

We are all excited for Jr.. He recently became the Branch Manager for the bank he works for. The branch is in Atlanta...about 35 minutes from home. He really enjoys working there. We are really proud of him and excited about this new opportunity!

Me? Well, let's see...I love being the sport's MOM! (It's busy, but I love it!) I'm still teaching Kindergarten. It's a new adventure every day- I can honestly say I never know what I'm walking into each day. --So, I look at it this way - I don't get bored! I'm looking forward to this summer...Kade and I are going on a mission trip with our church to Brazil! I went to Brazil in ... I think it was '96 or '97,but I think I am more excited about this trip because Kade will be going too! Of course we had to make sure the trip could work around Camp Deer Run- and so it does! Looks like our boys will be there 4th.

So there it is...an update- IT'S A MIRACLE!

New Member of the Cox Family

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_V_5EbVWJbPU/R13BwI8fILI/AAAAAAAAABI/U6ke66xKw-E/s320/WEBSOT.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5142479382306037938" />
Meet "Tank" our new English Bulldog puppy. He says all he remembers is hitting his arm on a helmet. At the hospital they sedated him and "set" his bone back in place. The doctor felt good about what they did, but there is a chance that he could have surgery. Keep Kade in your prayers. We go back on Wednesday to the Orthopedic doctor to find out for sure. Hopefully they will find everything doing great and put on a cast. Last night Kade pitched another gem of a game. He pitched a complete game and allowed no runs and struck out 7 while allowing only 3 hits and walking 1. Coaches from the other team complained over and over about him balking. It was quite comical. Finally the catcher and coach were thrown out of the game. Coach late came up and apologized and congratulated Kade for pitching a whale of a game.

Drew's regular season is over and he has made all-stars. He has developed into an awesome pitcher like his brother. Our little town has high expectations for his all-star team.

Macy lost her first tooth last week. Makes me a little sad. My kids are growing up so fast.

All of the kids are heading to CDR soon. Macy goes next week to day camp and the boys are signed up for 5th session.

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Well it's been a few weeks since I posted anything about the kids. Kade has been dominating with his pitching and has found his stroke at the plate. His team is 4-0 and leads their league Kade was the winning pitcher on 2 of those wins. Drew has continued to impress with his pitching as well and looks to have his brother's knack for a mean circle change. We did lose to Mt. Pleasant yesterday but still ended up winning the consolation bracket of a tournament. Macy is still tumbling with the best of them.

Kade has started playing summer league basketball with the high school now that he will be a freshman this next year (makes me feel old).

Enough for now.

Well we finally got to have a tournament this weekend because of the weather. Our little team went 5-0 to claim the 2007 Hughes Springs Early Bird Invitational. We won with games of 11-2 over Hughes Springs Longhorns, 18-6 vs. Hughes Springs Astros, 7-6 Hughes Springs Mustangs, 8-4 Daingerfield White Sox, & 7-1 Championship win over Hughes Springs Mustangs again.

Drew "Dr. K" Cox pitched all 6 of his allowed innings and only gave up 1 hit and struck out 15 of the batters that he faced. On the third game we were behind 6-0 after the first inning and Drew came in and shut them down to allow us to scratch out a win. His Daddy was smiling from ear to ear.

Kade finally got to start his regular season today against the Dekalb Bears the toughest team in the district. The Longhorns quickly gave up 4 runs all do to 8 errors in the first 2 innings. Score was 4-0 up until the 4th inning when we finally had a run scored. Kade came in to start the fourth inning and didn't allow a run in three innings. Although the first batter about took him yard deep center. That was all he gave them. So now everyone knows who the Cox Brothers are. Great weekend for ball here.

Here are some pictures of Drew's tourney.

Week 3 of Baseball

Well finally got through with the infamous TAKS Testing week so ball should be in full swing from here on till summer. Kade's team had it schedule delayed a week so they played Mt. Pleasant in a non-conference game and won 10-0. Kade was the starting pitcher and went 3 innings striking out 3 and had a hand in all of the other 6 outs. He allowed only one hit. Later in the game he had an assist from the fence at the plate from the centerfield position.

Drewboy's team the "Water Mocassins" is on a roll. They are 4-0 on the year and have outscored their oppenents 60-10 with only one of those runs being earned. He was the winning pitcher on 3 of those games and plays a mean catcher when not. This week we play the better of the other two teams from our town so it should be interesting.

On Thursday I got to take Macy Lou to tumbling & cheer for the first time for me. I might be a little biased but I thought she was the best. She really liked the cheer routine best. Never thought I would be one into watching tumbling and cheer but it was really cool & cute at the same time.

Touney updates

Drew's tournament was cancelled because of rain Friday night but Kade's was still on. Kade started the first pitching with 3 up and 3 down with 2 strikeouts. Next inning the infamous strikeout get on first base error that seems to plague Kade. Catcher missed the third strike and just lobs it to first who boots it into the outfield which leads to unearned run #1. This was followed by 4 more infield errors that leads to a 4-0 lead for the visiting team. But Kade only allows one earned run and 2 hits. The Longhorns lose the first game 5-0 and have to turn around and play back to back. Their next game was against Lewisville, Ar. This time we were the visiting team and started things off with a bang. Tyler Hutchings was hit and stole 2nd base where he was knocked in by Justin Goforth's single. Kade followed with a walk. Next up was Tanner "T-Dub" Wright who sent a shot foul about 400'. Pitcher made and error and threw the same pitch and Tanner politely tee off on it over left center field's fence for a 3 run bomb. We went on to win 5-1. This time we drew the Texarkana, Ar Rangers. Kade was asked to start on the mound again. He pitched a beautiful complete 2 hit game allowing only 1 run over 5 innings with 8 K's. Unfortunately we could only muster a run ourselves. This put us into the international tie breaking rule which puts a runner on 3rd with one out and each batter has a strike and a ball. We go first and fail to get a run. Texarkana plated the winning run with 2 outs on a passed third strike to win the game. It was a very emotional loss. Kade pitched awesome, as I always know, for 7 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 13. I forgot to mention it was 45-47 degrees with the win blowing 15-20 mph all day. Lovely baseball weather. As for batting Kade went 0-2 walking 3 times, striking out once, lined out to center, and hit into a fielder's choice but scored 2 times.

Easter time means Baseball Time!

Cox clan had their annual Easter Egg Safari at my parents this past weekend. Hope you enjoy some of the pictures that Christie took.

Kade's team started off a little rough going 0-2 in their opening tourney but Kade pitched great. They played Mt. Pleasant on Thursday and won 18-4 with Kade walking 4 times. He pitched 2 innings and struck out 5 and started a double play. If your counting that is 7 outs. His first strike out got on base.

Drew started his year off tonight with a bang. He was the starting pitcher and pitched two complete innings striking out 5, hitting the lead off batter(good way to set the tone!), and assisting in the only ball put into play. At the bat he went 3 for 3 with a single, double, and inside the park home run. Shame they called the game early I had a cycle in my mind. He also caught the other two innings. I thought he had an awesome game but I'm a little biased. Omaha Water Moccasins 16 Omaha Yankees 0.

Both boys have a tournament this weekend with Kade's in Hope, Ar and Drewboy's in Hughes Springs.

Another update

Our little friend Kanyon is doing well so far.
